My name is Jenni Ploeckelman, and I teach second-grade. I grew up on a dairy farm near Dorchester where I continue to work with my parents. I attended school here at St. Mary’s myself for seventh and eighth grades! Attending college at St. Catherine University in Minnesota, I graduated with a major in elementary and pre-primary education and a minor in theology.
In Ms. Ploeckelman’s second-grade classroom students learn to love learning! We learn about God’s love for us as we further develop our relationship with our heavenly Father. We learn to improve our reading, writing, math, and language skills. We learn to love one another in our classroom family and carry that love out into the world. In second grade, students prepare to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time, do various service projects, care for class pets, create art, solve problems, and hatch chicks from eggs in an incubator!
