My name is Deanna Roth, and I have been teaching at St. Mary School for the past 19 years. I grew up on a farm in Curtiss, WI where I attended Holy Rosary Elementary School in Owen, WI. Before high school began, my family moved to Milan, where I graduated from Abbotsford High School. After high school, I received my Elementary Education degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, and then returned to the area and began teaching here at St. Mary’s. I got married, and have three children who are currently in middle school here. I also have three older step-children, who also attended school at St. Mary’s.
In third grade, students get to learn important life-long lessons, like multiplication, division, cursive, and the Apostles Creed. However, most former students will tell you that the highlight of their third-grade year was spending the day at the Little Schoolhouse. They get to dress up in old-fashioned clothing and spend the day in the one-room schoolhouse located in the Rural Arts Museum. It is a unique field trip that only the third graders get to experience!
